Who we are

Freedom35 Web Design is a service line of Freedom35Studios LLC, a company that builds software and games. Websites are what we do for other people; the harder engineering is what we do for ourselves, and both feed each other.

That matters more than it sounds. Most small web shops can build you a nice-looking page. Fewer can build you a site that takes bookings, holds customer accounts, moves money, and doesn't fall over — because that is software, not web design. We do both, which is why our plans go all the way up to a real application rather than stopping at a contact form.

Why we build for free first

Because the usual way is bad for both sides. You get a proposal from someone whose work you have only seen on other people's projects, you pay a deposit, and then you find out whether they understood you. We would rather just build it and let you look.

It only works because we are fast, and we are fast because we do not start from a blank page every time. We maintain our own toolkit — the layout system, the booking and payment code, the account and dashboard machinery — so a new site is assembled from parts that already work and then tailored to you. What would take an agency six weeks takes us about one.

How we work

• Everything in writing. No calls you have to be free for. You get a considered reply you can re-read, not a sales pitch you have to remember.
• Bespoke code. No page builder, no fifteen plugins, nothing that stops working when a plugin author gives up. Your site is a handful of files we can read and fix.
• Fast sites by default. No tracking pile, no chat widget slowing every page, no cookie banner you didn't ask for.
• Plain answers. Including when the answer is that you don't need what you asked for, or that someone cheaper would serve you better.

What we won't do

We turn work down. Anything illegal, obviously — but also anything we can't do well, and anything designed to mislead the people who will end up on it. If we can't stand behind the finished site, we would rather not have built it.

The name

Freedom35 is about building things that keep working without you having to be there. That is a decent description of a good website, too.
